Ultimate Chaos on your wedding day

Posted on: No Comments

Imagine you go to someone’s wedding and as your get to the reception venue, you are met by security guards who want to search you to check you for weapons. You are either at a very high profile royal or celebrity wedding, or the bride and groom are playing a prank on you by hiring the comedic services of Ultimate Chaos.

If you hire the guys at Ultimate Chaos, the first thing your guests will see as they arrive at your wedding reception is “The Security Guards” Steve Jones and Norman Bush, with a strict policy of “No Weapons” and “Strictly No Guns” your guests will have to pass though their metal detector. Then, just to be sure, your guests will be shown to their seats with a seven million candle power lamp.

Of course all of this is done in the best humour and the security guards are a meet and greet comedy act. Ultimate Chaos assure clients that they keep it all light hearted know when to stop.

I think this is a great idea if you want to add some extra laughs to your wedding day. It’s so original, people will still be talking about your wedding months after the event.

Keep your guests amused with a Fun Casino

A Fun Casino can be a really great way to add some really engaging entertainment to your wedding reception. Your guests will have great fun playing popular Casino games such as Roulette, Blackjack, Poker and Craps, and if your not keen on encouraging your guests to gamble, don’t worry, it’s just a bit of fun, no money ever changes hands. Usually, each guest is given a token, voucher or fun money which can be exchanged for chips at the table. The winner is the one with the most chips at the end.

Most Fun Casinos offer Casino games at around £200 – £300 per table, for 2 – 3 hours, including everything you need to play the games, and a professional croupier.

I think a great time to have one or two Casino tables is that period between the photos and the wedding breakfast when guests are mingling and having a drink before sitting down, or the period after the wedding breakfast, before the disco or entertainment starts. You can choose the best time for your Casino by the timetable on your day, if you have a period of time where your guests will just be sitting around waiting, that’s the perfect time for a Fun Casino.

There are hundreds of Fun Casino companies in the UK now, so you can be sure you will be able to find one who covers your area. Our wedding directory has a Fun Casino category where see Fun Casinos in your county.

Wedding Choir

Have you ever been to a wedding where nobody sings? The organ plays hymns but no one joins in. The bride and groom have carefully chosen music that they both like, even granny’s favourite hymn but the guests stand silent!

Maybe YOU would have loved to sing because you knew the songs but no one around you was singing so you would have felt embarassed to sing out. What a shame! How sad for the bridal couple! Worse still, the person responsible for putting on the CD accidently plays the wrong track!

Or you might have been to a wedding where the happy couple had engaged a Choir who would sing their chosen hymns or music and lead the guests, encouraging them to join in. The choir could set the scene before the bride arrives with carefully chosen music and keep the mood going with suitable songs while the couple sign the register.

A lot of thought goes into choosing wedding music so why not have the works and engage a choir. You can discuss the kind of music that suits you both and the choir will provide this. Your wedding is very personal to you and so should the music be.

I know what kind of wedding I would rather go to.

Add a touch Of Magic to Your Day

Your wedding day is a very special and expensive occasion. A wandering close up magician can add that special touch of magic to make the day extra special and memorable for everyone, helping to give you value for that expense.

He will mix with your guests encouraging them to smile, laugh, gasp with astonishment and have a great time!

A ladies ring vanishes to reappear within a rose. Your signed £20 note is found inside a kiwi fruit!

During the initial reception and the photograph session, the bride and groom will be busy and the photographer wants everyone kept close, and not slipping away to the bar! So your guests will really appreciate being entertained.

During the wedding breakfast, there will be more magic and more fun. The magician will attend each table, between courses, (not whilst they are eating), entertaining young and old alike going from table to table between courses.

You will hear cries of astonishment and thunderous applause resound around the room, encouraging everyone to have a great time and be in good spirits to enjoy and remember your special day.

Also in the evening, especially the early evening, before the heavy music kicks in , a magician will get the guests talking, laughing and having a fantastic time on your day.

Sometimes called table magicians, there are many good quality close up magicians who would love to entertain at your celebration. So whom should you pick?

Most magicians nowadays have a website where you can often see them in action. Most of them will perform amazing tricks, most of them will be magic circle members, many of them will be Equity members (important for insurance as some venues insist upon it).

My best advice is ask if he is a professional (not someone earning bit on the side!). Ask for recommendations and chat to them to see if you like them and what they can do to make your day extra special.

If you like him, your guests will, he will enhance the day entertaining throughout. Helping to make your special day, extra special for everyone.

Choosing Music for a Spring Wedding

Posted on: No Comments

Whether you’re planning to walk up the aisle to the exquisite sound of a solo harp, wow your guests with a brass ensemble or you’ve gone for the versatility of a string quartet, having professional classical musicians play at your wedding or partnership ceremony adds a touch of elegance and sophistication – so for a Spring wedding, are there any particular pieces of music that might work especially well?

Probably one of the most universally popular pieces associated with the season would be Vivaldi’s ‘Spring’ from the ‘Four Seasons’ – written for violin and orchestra but frequently performed by string quartet, the opening movement is an enduring favourite that most guests will recognise instantly. Perhaps less familiar (but equally lovely) are the second and third movements, with the whole piece lasting between 10-12 minutes this might be an ideal choice to have played before the ceremony as your guests arrive and are seated.

Really, any music which has an optimistic, uplifting feel is ideal for a Spring wedding, so other pieces to consider could include ‘Spring Song’ by Mendelssohn, ‘Chanson de Matin’ by Elgar, ‘Dance of the Blessed Spirits’ by Gluck, the ‘Flower Duet’ by Delibes, ‘Anitra’s Dance’ by Grieg, the ‘Lark Quartet’ by Haydn, ‘The Swan’ by Saint Saens, anything from the ‘Water Music’ by Handel, ‘Waltz from Swan Lake’ by Tchaikovsky, the ‘Lark Ascending’ by Vaughan Williams and the ever popular ‘Air on a G String’ by J.S Bach.

Of course, the best professional classical ensembles will have a wide repertoire of pieces to choose from – and as musicians have an extensive knowledge of hundreds of pieces, they will usually be happy to spend time in discussion with you advising on music that might work well or suit the mood you are hoping to create. Indeed, with the most established groups, there will be an extensive list of music available and if you’re looking for something to make your wedding music really stand out, they will be able to put together a bespoke playlist of pieces which are stunningly beautiful but less frequently played, offering your guests an opportunity to hear something they are unlikely to have heard before at other peoples weddings. Choosing less popular pieces means there will be a very fresh (and springlike!) quality to the entertainment on your special day.
